Kevin Smith: Partner
I commenced training in 1982, completing a year’s work placement during my degree course in accountancy, which I passed with commendation. After completing my training with Hunt & Partners Chartered Accountants in Chichester, I became a Partner in C J Driscoll Chartered Accountants in January 1991. I had the responsibility of running the Cosham office, and in 1997, after a period of trading as a sole practitioner; the firm changed its trading style to KSL.
Steve and I have built the firm by providing an excellent, proactive and innovative accountancy service to our clients as well as investing in our staff’s education and training.
Steve Cooper: Partner
My career started at Jones Avens in Chichester in July 1985 and was followed by a move to Hunt & Partners, again in Chichester, in October 1987.
After a couple of years and successfully completing the Association of Accounting Technicians exams, I moved to Spofforths in Bognor Regis. I joined Kevin at Cosham in December 1992 and our partnership followed in 1997.
With extensive experience in practice, I can assist you with all manner of accountancy, taxation and business advice, ranging from new start-ups, tax planning and incorporation to everyday matters, such as completing your self-assessment tax return or preparing limited company accounts.
Kat Mitchell: Manager
I joined KSL in October 2006, starting my career in accountancy.
I started as a trainee accountant here and have established myself within the practice to move up to management. I can assist you from starting up a new company to dealing with VAT returns, bookkeeping, year-end accounts and self-assessment tax returns. I am always happy to help with any queries you may have to do with accountancy.
I have achieved my Association of Accounting Technicians qualification (AAT) as well as my Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification (ACCA).
Kremena Maneva: Accountant
I started my career as a trainee accountant at Lucraft, Hodgson & Daws Chartered Accountants in October 2008 where I was successfully trained in preparing self-assessment tax returns, limited companies accounts, VAT returns and payroll.
Since January 2012, I became a proud member of KSL's team and achieved my Association of Accounting Technicians qualification.
Sam Wilding: Accountant
I studied at Itchen College between September 2009 and May 2011, whilst also working part-time. After deciding I did not want to progress to university after graduating from college, I subsequently started at KSL in August 2011 as a trainee accountant. Since then, I have been developing my skills in accounts and am also studying and working towards achieving ACCA qualified status, having successfully completed the AAT in 2016.
Shana Davies: Accountant
I started working in accountancy in June 2010 for a small family-run business in Portsmouth. It was there that I successfully achieved my AAT qualification, which I completed in March 2014. My job roles mainly included bookkeeping, payroll, preparing and submitting VAT returns, as well as preparing and submitting CIS returns.
In October 2014, I joined KSL, where my job roles now mainly include preparing VAT Returns, and preparing year end accounts.
I enjoy working at KSL, and am looking forward to my future at the company. I am currently studying for the ATT qualification.
Claire Hoare: Accountant
I started working as a finance assistant in 2008 where I decided I wanted to work in an accountancy practice. So I studied in the evenings to get my AAT, which I passed in 2012. I then managed to get a job within a firm of accountants and I have enjoyed the work I do ever since.
My job role will include bookkeeping, tax returns, preparing and submitting VAT returns, as well as preparing year ends accounts.
I joined KSL in February 2016. I enjoy working at KSL and I am looking forward to my future at the company.
Phil Searle: Accountant
I joined KSL in January 2017, and I am based at the Cosham office. I have over 30 years of experience in accountancy, mainly in practice.
Zoe Davies: Payroll
I joined KSL in 1997.
After proving myself as a competent member of the team, while employed as an admin assistant, I was moved into the payroll team. Under supervision, I was taught how this pivotal part of the business operated. After excelling in this position I was entrusted to handle the 250 plus (which has now grown to 470 plus) client base that KSL manages. I look after the wages of over 1500 employees. I will always do my best to assist clients in the payroll queries and provide them with the information they require in the content that they require, via email or post.

Laura Knight: Practice Co-ordinator
I joined KSL in 2008, training as an administration assistant.
In 2012 I took on the role as practice co-ordinator, when my colleague left on maternity leave, which then developed into a permanent role. I know work alongside Michelle and Katie.
Michelle Harrington: Practice Co-ordinator
I first started work for KSL in Cosham in 2002, training as an administrative assistant.
I left in 2003 to work for a family business as their administrative manager. I also helped with book-keeping, accounts and payroll.
I returned to KSL in 2007 to help set up the new practice management system and help maintain it in that role.
I moved to our Chichester office in 2013 after maternity leave, where I resumed my role as practice co-ordinator. I spent four years at Chichester before moving back to the Cosham office to work alongside Laura and Katie.
Katie Butcher: Practice Co-ordinator
I joined KSL in 2008, training as an administrative assistant.
This has now developed into the role of practice co-ordinator alongside Laura and Michelle.
